The MCA-M Core Team has since May 2008 been implementing activities related to the MCC Process. In the period May-July 2008, in collaboration with other development partners including the World Bank, the Department for International Development (DfID), the African Development Bank (ADB) and others, the Core Team conducted a Constraints Analysis, analysing the binding constraints to economic growth and poverty reduction.

Having completed the CA, the Core Team embarked on Phase I of the Stakeholder Consultations. This accorded the MCA-M team an opportunity to present the findings of the CA and to solicit the feedback of various stakeholders.

Stakeholders that were consulted included:
a) Private Sector
b) Civil Society
c) Religious Community
d) Political Parties
e) Government

The Core Team also assembled a Technical Working Group – a group of eminent persons representing civil society, smallholder farmers, the private sector, the donor community and others to provide advice and guidance at every step of the Compact development process.
